27th International Congress on Nursing Care & Nursing Education

Oncology Nursing in particular, is probably one of the most challenging and rewarding fields in nursing. For those with cancer, oncology nurses are the ones who are there for us during our most difficult and intimate moments in life, the ones at our bedside, educating us, encouraging us. An oncology nurse is a nursing professional who specializes in caring for people with cancer. Oncology nurses have a cancer-specific knowledge base and clinical expertise in cancer care beyond what is acquired in a basic nursing program. The oncology nursing plays a vital role in coordinating the multiple and complex technologies now commonly employed in cancer diagnosis and treatment. The roles of the oncology nurses vary from the intensive care focus of bone marrow transplantation to the community focus of cancer screening, detection, and prevention. A Cancer and tumor nurse gives consideration to malignancy patients and those at danger for getting the malady. They screen physical conditions, recommend pharmaceutical care, and control chemotherapy and different medications. Oncology is a standout amongst the most difficult and compensating fields in nursing and no two days at work are ever the same.
